Microsoft’s new way to promote silverlight

Valleywag’s  rumor factory has reported that Microsoft is negotiating a $50 million dollar buyout with Ustream.TV. Valleywag’s source says that Microsoft sees Ustream TV as a great platform to promote Silverlight, which makes sense. Our bet, though, is that Microsoft wants Ustream.TV now that they’ve won over James Blunt. Yes, that has to be it.

There is no official word on this from neither Microsoft nor Ustream.TV, but folks at Valleywag are sure they’re right with this one. However, since Microsoft is spending all their cash on Yahoo (if the bride says yes, of course), I’m not sure they’ll want to dish out 50 million more at the same time.
